FROM DAWN TO DAWN
Developed for performance and conceptual artist Iván Sikic’s work ‘From Dawn To Dawn’, the creation of promotional items for this project - each one individually hand sprayed in the studio by Grosz Co.Lab - not only reflected the visual qualities of the performative work but also the uniqueness & physicality of this durational performance.

COLLABORATION
The artist’s practice and creative intent was integral to informing the conceptual approach to the project along with its execution. The resulting visual language was the product of experimentation, collaboration and handmade creation.
THE PERFORMANCE
Performed at Testing Grounds as part of Melbourne White Night, the work featured two performers digging, uninterrupted, in complete silence for 72 hours. As they progressed through the dig the soil they heaped by their living quarters was sprayed and the revealed foundations marked in fluorescent pink paint.
DOCUMENTING THE DIG
A collection of 5 sprayed relics was collected every four hours then bagged, sealed, dated and valued for sale based on the average Australian Journalists wage - the work a response by the artist to mainstream media and mass consumption.
